Character history:
Ako was first introduced as a side character in the Suite Precure universe, mainly appearing as a friend of Kanade Minamino's brother, Souta. Her first meeting with the title characters Hibiki and Kanade was unpleasant, as she showed nothing but total disrespect for the two.
When she appeared in front of them while being disguised as the silent masked Cure Muse, she actually helped them beat their enemies, but she stated that she was not on anyone's side. From then on, Muse would appear from time to time to protect them when they were in a pinch, but she neither revealed her identity nor showed any interest in joining them. She used her Fairy Tone, Dodory, to speak for her, and she could conjure magical piano keys with protective abilities in battle.
The mystery surrounding Cure Muse made Hibiki and Kanade curious, causing them to suspect their three friends, Waon, Seika, and Ouji, and even Seiren, their shape-shifting enemy. However, they couldn't find out who Cure Muse really was.
After the enemies of Minor Land succeeded in collecting all the notes to sing the Melody of Sorrow, Seiren refused to hurt her best friend Hummy with the song and unexpectedly transformed into Cure Beat in front of them all. Cure Muse continued to assist the three Cures, but she still refused to speak or partner herself. The Cures became even more confused when Cure Muse protected Mephisto, the leader of Minor Land, from Hibiki's Crescendo Tone attack.
It was not until Mephisto came to Kanon Town himself and wrought havoc, that Cure Muse finally revealed herself to be Ako, the princess of Major Land and daughter of Mephisto and Aphrodite, the rulers of Major Land. She fought in disguise because she wasn't really able to fight her own father, who was corrupted by the evil Noise. After her father left Major Land, Ako cut her hair, fled to Kanon Town, and lived with her grandfather, Otokichi, leading a normal life as a student of Public Kanon Elementary. She was shown to be skilful in using stilts and had a great sense of balance, which made the masked Cure Muse look older than she actually was, so Hibiki and the others didn't suspect her at all.
With the help of her three friends, Ako could bring her father back from evil, but the forces of Minor Land hatched a new plan.
After Mephisto came back as the king of Major Land, Ako came back to her homeland to find that her mother was possessed by a strong dark being, who successfully trapped her in the castle, but Mephisto could save her with the power of their song.
The battles between the Cures and Minor Land that came after couldn't stop Noise from reviving, and the Cures had no choice but to fight him in his full power. Noise turned everyone in Kanon Town and Major Land into stone, including Otokichi and Crescendo Tone, but after some time Hibiki made the Cures realize that Noise was not supposed to be mindlessly eliminated. With their newfound powers, they reached to Noise and assured him that they could exist together in happiness. Noise accepted his defeat, and with Hummy's powers, everyone was turned back into humans again.
Personality and Relationships:
Despite being the youngest of the Suite Precures (or actually, of all the Cures), Ako is mature, proud, and cold. It seems like she always sees Hibiki and Kanade as more childish than her, much the two girls' dismay. Ako loves singing, although she said she's not very good at it. She also loves her family very dearly, and is willing to go through great lengths to protect them.
Although she usually looks uninterested in whatever people are doing around her, Ako likes to have some fun and care for animals. Ako can get easily embarassed, but she secretly enjoys the little things in life. Despite her cold demeanor, she doesn't seem to be as arrogant as she looks. Siren/Ellen and Hummy didn't even recognize her in Kanon Town because as a princess she didn't wear glasses and she "used to look so plain", and Ako didn't seem to be offended. She also didn't wish to be treated like a princess by Ellen and Hummy.
However, Ako hates to be made fun of, and she always tries to look reliable and strong. It doesn't have any effect to her father and grandfather, though, who dotes on her all the time.
Around her peers, Ako is seen as a lone wolf, and Souta seems to be the only person who tries to befriend her. Although she always acts like she prefers to be alone, she cares deeply for Souta, and later on, her three partners as well.
In the other Precures' eyes, Ako always comes out as cute, judging from how Kanade likes to dress her up (and Erika, too, from how she's all over Ako in New Stage 2). Despite being rude to her once, Hibiki didn't seem to see Ako in a bad light at all, warming up to her quickly even before she found out that Ako is Cure Muse. This might help Ako open up to the girls later on. Because she had always been fighting solo, at first Ako had a hard time working with the other Cures as a team, but the three welcomed her with open arms and she soon learned to become a powerful ally with her abilities.
